Mama's Makeover

Mama and I went to check out the 50Plus Expo on Saturday (16th May 2015) and our 'short visit' turned out to be quite an exciting morning. Mama got a makeover by the friendly people at Prime magazine followed by a photoshoot and a personalised magazine cover.

Grandma Lily Turns 92

Mama is 92 today! I thought it'd be fun to crash her party and followed her for her Flourishing Fun session where they did exercises, some dancing and had a sing-along session.

Introducing Grandma Lily

My grandma is 92 this year but she is always young at heart, open to learning new skills, and gets the kick out of telling us ridiculous jokes. At 88, she started playing the ukulele, at 90, we gave her an iPad and she started using Facebook and YouTube, and I'm sure she has some new tricks up her sleeve this year. She is a great inspiration to all of us and I thought it would be nice to share some of her talents and adventures in this blog. Without further ado, introducing Grandma Lily...

Leisure

"What is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows.
No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.
No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night.
No time to turn at Beauty's glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance.
No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began.
A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare."
- William Henry Davies

Hope you've enjoyed the partial poem recital by Grandma Lily (minimal practice involved). My grandma learnt this in primary school (such cool poems they learnt then!) and she still remembers it by heart.
